SIA is pleased to announce two keynote speakers for SIA's 2012 Naval & Maritime Commercial SATCOM Users' Workshop . RADM Elizabeth M. Young, USN (Ret.), Director, Systems Engineering Directorate, National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) will open the workshop with keynote remarks on the impact of budget constraints to the ever-evolving defense and maritime requirements. During the workshop lunch , RADM Robert E. Day, Jr., Assistant Commandant for Command, Control, Communications & Information Technology, U.S. Coast Guard, and Director, Coast Guard Cyber Command, Pre-Commissioning Detachment, will provide remarks on Coast Guard and cybersecurity considerations.
This focused workshop brings together leaders from Naval and the Maritime services with satellite industry executives to explore the satellite requirements and challenges unique to the Navy, Coast Guard and Marines. Join U.S. Government participants from the DoD Combatant Commands, Services and agencies, as well as commercial satellite operators, service providers, ground equipment suppliers, and manufacturers. Past briefers include: Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, SPAWAR, Army, and many more.
Topics included in this year’s agenda include: Briefs on the Navy’s SATCOM strategy, field requirements, Airborne SATCOM for maritime services, foreign military perspectives, and terminal technology developments.
